Obituary of Charles J. Lachioma

U. S. Navy Veteran Charles J. LaChioma, age 72, of Hamden, loving husband of 52 years of Sandra Keller LaChioma, devoted father of Steven LaChioma, his wife, Laurie, proud grandfather of Steven J. and Lindsay Ana of the town of Newburgh, New York, died on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 in Yale New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on June 14, 1933, he was a son of the late Richard and Anna Ciuci LaChioma. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and served on the U.S.S. Intrepid. Mr. LaChioma had received the Honor Man award for conscientious attention to duty. He graduated from Fairfield Prepatory School and attended Fairfield University. He was employed at S. K. Lavery Appliance, North Haven and worked 50 years as a salesman in the appliance business. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Additional survivors include two sisters, Adele Claire Massimin of Hamden and Marilyn Godwin and her husband, Chuck of San Francisco, CA, a sister-in-law, Eunice LaChioma of Bridgeport, five godchildren, Erica Singer, Stacey Williams, Ross Keller, Karen Ahlberg and Siri Pedersen Pesmeg as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Richard LaChioma. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Friday from 4-9 p.m.
