Obituary of Roger M. Search

Roger Mack Search, age 91, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in his home at Church Hill Village. Born in Crooksville, Ohio on April 16th, 1931, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Louise Coburn Search.

In high school, Roger fell in love with Betty Jean (BJ) McPeek while they were both working at the local movie theater. The couple were wed in 1950 and enjoyed a marriage full of love, laughter, and so much joy. Roger attended the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, in 1948 and would eventually leave the academy and enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 to support the Korean War effort, where he served with distinction.

Following the war, Roger returned to Ohio to attend The Ohio State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1958 from the college of management. After graduating, Roger and Betty made a home in Ohio, where they adopted their only daughter, Lisa Ann (Search) Lupien. Roger enjoyed a long career as the Vice President of Human Resources at Hubbell Incorporated, a job that relocated his family to Trumbull, Connecticut in 1974. Later in life, Roger would go on to complete his MBA from the University of New Haven, always striving to continuously learn and challenge himself. Roger retired in 1989 to enjoy a life of golf and the company of friends and family, including being deeply involved in his beloved and only grandchild Abigail Search Lupien Keilman's life.

Roger will be remembered for many things; he was a polite and professional gentleman and a loving and kind man who always stood by to support his family, even in the most trying of times. In 2012, Roger lost the love of his life to Alzheimer's, and in 2020, Roger lost his only child, Lisa, to a long fight with cancer. Through it all, he always found reasons to smile and live with dignity.

Roger is survived by his granddaughter Abigail and her husband Ben, of Boston, and his half-brother Thomas Pitcock and his wife and children.

A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd., Trumbull, CT with Military Honors.

Arrangements entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
