Obituary of John Battaglia

Resident of Bridgeport John Battaglia Sr., age 81, of Bridgeport, a retired employee of Heim Bearings, Fairfield, died on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on November 15, 1928, he was a son of the late John and Frances Guerrieri Battaglia. John was a kind and generous man who enjoyed and loved his family. He was giving of his time, always taking care to help his neighbors and friends. He will be sadly missed by all. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Edith Battaglia, a son, John Battaglia III and his wife Joan of Bridgeport, a daughter, Cynthia Battaglia of Long Island, NY, a sister, Marlene Jones of NC, two sisters-in-law, Ann Grasso of Bridgeport and Marion Battaglia of Shelton, five grandchildren, Michele and her husband Jon, Amy, John and his wife Carrie, Matthew and Rick, six great grandchildren, John, Alex, Carley, Jack, Shea and Caitlyn, a dedicated niece Faye and her husband Barry and nephew Ed Jones. He was pre-deceased by his brother Phil Battaglia. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.
