Obituary of Eileen Mary DeVitto

Eileen Daly DeVitto, age 94, of Trumbull, died on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Jefferson House in Newington. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony DeVitto. She was born in Bridgeport on June 17, 1928 to the late William and Mabel Daly. Eileen was very active in several ministries at St. Theresa Parish in Trumbull. She served as a eucharistic minister, provided communion to the homebound, visited the sick at local hospitals; belonged to a prayer group, a food share program and Mothers circle. Eileen was also an active volunteer at and President of Birthright, providing help and support to pregnant women and newborns. She will be lovingly remembered by all as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who provided comfort, love, laughs and plenty of delicious home cooking.

Eileen is survived by her sister Virginia McClinch, daughter Marianne DeVitto and her partner Charles, sons and daughters-in-law Tom and Judy DeVitto and Christopher and Keri DeVitto, as well as grandchildren, Mike Zingo (Jeanette), Elizabeth DeVitto, Kristen Begley (Sean), Jessica DeVitto, Sara DeVitto and fiancé Logan Herb and a great granddaughter Mikayla Zingo. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their families.

Eileen's family would like to thank the home care CNA's Desreen Palmer and Ashante Abrams and the staff at the Jefferson House for the excellent care they provided. Their warmth and empathy has helped a difficult time become more manageable. A special thank you to Maureen Lahickey who went beyond the realm of a nurse and long time friend to love, care and support not only our mother but the family as well. No words can describe our gratitude.
