Obituary of Anne Marie Palmer
Anne Marie Alascia Palmer, age 78, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Carlo Palmer, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Monday, May 16, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Anne Marie was born in the Bronx alongside her twin brother and they moved to Trumbull, CT in her teens. On a blind date she met her future husband Carlo and their love story began. She retired from Connecticut National Bank and was a full-time wife and mom. They raised two spoiled children in a tiny condo on Texas Ave., Bridgeport. That condo and Nob Hill were her passion; she was president of its board of directors for over 20 years. Anne spent countless hours on the phone helping anyone she could. Anne Marie's door was always open, she welcomed everyone into her home and never ran out of ziti, coffee or good gossip. She loved her cigarettes, junk food, mashed potatoes and never refused dessert. She wasn't even 5 ft tall but could yell and swear like a giant. She hated her wigs, teeth and bras but loved her huge dark sunglasses. She couldn't hear a thing but loved to roll her eyes. She loved watching Little House on the Prairie, soap operas, game shows and Blue Bloods. Anne Marie was Auntie Anne or Mama Palmer to everyone that met her. She was the most beautiful example of unconditional love and kindness. The best mother and friend a child could ask for and will never be forgotten.
In addition to her husband of 46 years Carlo, she was predeceased by her parents Vincent and Mary Yolla Alascia, brothers-in-law, Phil and Peter Palmer and John Wanat.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children, devoted daughter Lisa Cisero and her husband James, of Shelton, her beloved son Carl P Palmer of Derby, "granddaughters" Danielle , Jaimee and Victoria Cisero, her twin brother Vincent Alascia of Bridgeport, sisters-in-law Jean Wanat, Rosalind and Sue Palmer of Westport, brother-in-law Tony Palmer and wife Susan of Westport; as well as several nieces and nephews including great nephew Frankie and great niece Crystal (her petunia), her special helper Bobby Cisero and of course Freddy, and an enormous amount of friends who she considered family.
