Obituary of Richard R. Naylor, Sr.

Richard R. Naylor, Sr., age 79, of Easton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elsie (Cortina) Naylor. Born in Bridgeport on October 3, 1942 he was the son of the late Raymond and Irene (Mihay) Naylor. Mr. Naylor was a group leader and machinist at Bridgeport Machines before his retirement with over 36 years of dedicated service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed both hunting and fishing. His faith was extremely important to him and evident as a longtime, dedicated parishioner of Notre Dame Church of Easton where he has built many friendships over the years. A kind and generous man, Richard had a great sense of humor and enjoyed bringing a smile to the faces of those around him. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Elsie of nearly 59 years, other survivors include his loving son, Richard R. Naylor, Jr and his wife Marketa of Shelton and his daughter, Lisa Reilly of NH, his cherished grandchildren, Amy and Matthew Naylor and Lucy, Ruby and Myles Reilly, his sister, Mary Grant and her partner Alison Amato of Bridgeport, as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends.
