Obituary of Carolyn M. O'Neall

Carolyn M. Gatto O'Neall, age 65, of Monroe, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 8, 2022 surrounded by her loving daughters. She was the beloved wife of the late Kevin K. O'Neall. Born in Greenwich on December 17, 1956 she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Alma (Tackman) Gatto.

Carolyn grew up in Greenwich and graduated from Fairfield University. Family was very important to Carolyn and raising her daughters was one of the most rewarding joys of her life. As a devoted mother, she was always there to support them through every milestone and provided guidance as the perfect role model. She was a creative, artistic person who had an eye for design and appreciated the beauty in all aspects of life. As an animal lover, Carolyn had a fondness for all creatures, especially cats. She found comfort in nature, especially flowers, birds, and the beach. She particularly enjoyed many memorable family vacations to Cape Cod. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with family and friends. Anyone who met Carolyn recognized her kind, loving personality and generous spirit. Many will remember Carolyn as graceful, caring, and gentle, protective of those she loved. Her strength and resilience serves as an inspiration for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her loving daughters, Katharine O'Neall and Kelley O'Neall, and brother Frank Gatto (wife Cynthia) as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Tpke., Monroe. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
