Obituary of Dore V. Devaney

Dore V. (Lynch) Devaney, age 93, of Trumbull, formerly of Southbury and Ridgefield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at St. Joseph Center, Trumbull. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald F. Devaney, Sr. Born in New York City on July 27, 1928 she was a daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Rosenberger) Lynch. Dore had worked as a receptionist at Perkin Elmer for many years before her retirement. She loved decorating, reading and antiquing. Her greatest enjoyment however was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored. A selfless and caring person, she always put the needs of others before her own. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Dawn Perkins and her husband William of Trumbull and Darcy Cassidy and her husband Louis Deutsch of Litchfield, her daughter-in-law, Jean Devaney of NH, her cherished grandchildren, Andrew Opgaard Jr. and his wife Patricia of Terryville, Brendan Opgaard of Cornwall, Kelly Isaacs and her husband David of Trumbull, Michael Perkins and his wife Kelly of Trumbull, Ryan Perkins and his fiancée Alicen Clarke of NJ, Matthew Perkins of Stamford and Jonathan Devaney of FL, her adored great grandchildren, Owen and Eirik Opgaard, Rowan and Quinn Perkins and Julia and Max Isaacs, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Donald, she was also predeceased by her son, Donald F. Devaney, Jr, her brother, Peter and sisters, Ann, Elizabeth and Rose.

All funeral services will be held privately for the immediate family and interment will be held in the family plot in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
