Obituary of Lois A. Welch

Lois Niedermeier Welch, age 88, of Shelton peacefully entered into rest on February 9, 2022 in her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife for over 62 years of Attorney John Welch and the daughter of Agnes Quinn Niedermeier and Joseph Niedermeier. She was the sister of Carol and her husband Fred O'Brien and sister-in-law and dear friend of Sandra Niedermeier

She was a proud graduate of Lauralton Hall and St. Vincent's School of Nursing. She was a longtime member of St. Lawrence Parish, a founding member of the St. Lawrence Parish Nurses and a founder of the former St. Lawrence Senior Ladies Group. She was a member of the Brownson Country Club 9 hole golf league which she enjoyed immensely and where she made many wonderful lifelong friends. It does take a village and Lois and her family are grateful for the many friends, neighbors and relatives who made up her village, for the love and support they brought her over the years, including Warners Hair Design and Wendy's.

She is the beloved mother of Karen Stack and her husband Richard of Wayland, MA, Meg Peterson and her husband Dave of Milford, Jack Welch and his wife Mary Sue of Ridgefield and Thomas Welch and his wife Jodi of Shelton. She was very important in the lives of her cherished grandchildren, Katie Stack, Caroline Stack, Brendan Stack, Ian Stack, Eric Peterson, Michael Peterson and his wife Kelsey, Tim Peterson, Shannon Welch Kralovenec and her husband Thomas, and Molly Welch, and many loving nieces.

She was predeceased by her husband and parents, her brothers Donald and Joseph Niedermeier and sister-in-law Beverly Niedermeier. Special thanks to her Masonicare Hospice team.
