Obituary of Joan F. Sayers

Joan Frances (LeDonne) Sayers, age 64, of Orange passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on December 19, 1957, she was the daughter of the late John and Jean (Rhodes) LeDonne. Joan was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1975 before beginning her career in the banking industry. Her career started in the Collections Department at the former Citytrust before moving on to a supervisory role with People's Bank as Foreclosure Supervisor. It was at People's Bank that she would meet and fall in love with her future husband and they would begin a relationship that would last for over 40 years. Joan had an affection for animals and was a true dog lover owning and caring for many in the course of her life, including several American Eskimos. She loved to cook and was an avid reader of Dean Koontz and Stephen King. She also had a passion for music that saw her dancing for many years of her life as well as becoming a Jazz Dance Teacher. During her retirement, her passion for music spread through Facebook, where she befriended hundreds of people from various countries with a mutual love for artists such as David Bowie and Bryan Ferry. A passionate and devoted wife, a dedicated and loving mother, a sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply and forever missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her beloved husband Craig Francis Sayers and her loving son Sean Christopher Sayers, other survivors include her brother, Dean LeDonne, sister-in-law Debbie Howard and nephews, Michael Howard and Patrick Howard.

Friends may greet the family on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A prayer service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, 326 E 110 St., New York, NY 10029.
