Obituary of Laverne V. Gallo

Laverne V. Piscatelli Gallo, age 78, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at home with her family by her side after a long battle with diabetes and neuropathy. She was the beloved wife of Frank Gallo of Trumbull.

Born in Huntington, Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of Emilio Piscatelli and Pearl Radozycki Piscatelli and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

Laverne enjoyed playing pinochle, dancing, shopping and going to the movies but her greatest enjoyment was traveling with her husband, cooking meals and spending time with family and friends. For many years she was a business owner alongside her husband, of Frank's News and Luvies Lunch in Bridgeport. After they sold the business, she went to work with the Bridgeport Transit Company as a dispatcher for many years before her retirement. Laverne was a devoted wife and mother and a caring aunt and cousin.

In addition to her beloved husband Frank of 52 years, survivors include a son, Frank Gallo and a daughter, Susan Cabral as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Road, #200, Framingham, MA 01701 or at www.diabetes.org.
