Obituary of Anthony Emil Armeno
Anthony Emil Armeno, age 96, of Bridgeport peacefully entered eternal rest and was reunited with his loving wife Claire (Briglia) Armeno on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family at his bedside. Anthony was born on Friday, July 10, 1925, to Antonio and Angelina (Cappella) Armeno in his parents' home in Stratford. Anthony graduated from Stratford High School in 1944. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran having served honorably during World War II. After serving in the Army Anthony attended school for Drafting and Engineering. He later worked in the areas of engineering and detail drafting for the Bodine Corporation, U.S. Baird Corporation and Globe Tapping Machine Company, with many years of dedicated service before his retirement. His background in engineering and need for being exact as a skilled draftsman carried over into his personal life where he prided himself on accuracy and precision. He had an interest in the weather and was an avid meteorologist where family and friends could turn for an accurate forecast. Anthony loved to share with his children and grandchildren the story of how he met his wife Claire at the Ritz Ballroom in January of 1951, asked her to marry him the following April and then they married that same year on December 1st at St. Patrick's Church. He was a devoted and loving husband to her until her death in October of 2001. Above all else, the devotion and love he gave to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was unmeasurable. He was always there to support and praise them in all their undertakings and achievements. He was also a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving children; Anthony S. Armeno and his wife Anne of Southbury, Claire Troesser and her husband Robert of Shelton, Marianne Armeno of Stratford and Angela Armeno of Bridgeport, his cherished grandchildren; Robert Troesser, Jr. and his wife Carly of Monroe, Lisa Claire Recupero and her husband Joshua of Southbury and Anthony F. Armeno and his wife Elizabeth of Southbury, his adored great grandchildren; Abigail, Emma, Madison and Teagan Troesser, Leonardo and Olivia Rose Recupero, Tenley Rogers and another great grandson who will join the family in March. In addition to his parents and beloved wife Claire of 50 years, he was also predeceased by his sisters Rose Lagano and Josephine Faggella and his brother Sylvester Armeno and infant brother Emil Armeno.
The Family would like to acknowledge Vitas Hospice Healthcare workers; Diana, Richard, Kylene, Erica, and Ezekiel. And special gratitude for the loving care provided by his aide Katherine (Annemarie) Cato.
