Obituary of Bernard M. Batenburg

WWll U.S. Army Veteran BATENBURG Bernard M. Batenburg, age 89, a long time resident of Trumbull, died on Friday, September 10, 2010 in St. Josephs Manor, Trumbull. Bernard was born in Racine, Wisconsin on July 30, 1921, he was the son of the late Michael and Jennie Weller Batenburg. A U.S Army Veteran, he served in the European Theater and the occupation of Japan during World War II. After a long career as an electrical engineer Mr. Batenburg retired from the Eaton Corporation and as many knew, Bernard had two loves in his life: his family and the people of his church. He continued to work at the Christ of King parish up until his final days and had previously served as a trustee and a member of the Regional Catholic School Board. Mr. Batenburg was pre-deceased by his loving wife Rena Marchio Batenburg. Survivors include a son, Mark P. Batenburg and his partner Hosea Turner of Hayward CA, two daughters, Mary Milazzo-Batenburg of Waterbury, CT, and Susan Batenburg of Janesville, WI, as well as five cherished grandchildren: Tina DiPaulo and her husband John, Michael Krebbs, Daniel Suponski, Michael Milazzo III, and Sarah Batenburg; and two great-grandchildren: Taylor and Chris DiPaulo. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
