Obituary of Christina Pertesis

Christina Zervos Pertesis, age 92, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late George Pertesis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 10, 2021 with her loving family by her side. Born on March 19, 1929 in Paleoupolis, Andros, Greece, she was a daughter of the late Dimitrios and Katina Bliziotis Zervos. She immigrated to the United States in 1957 and settled in Bridgeport. A very faithful woman, Christina was a dedicated parishioner of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. She was an active member of several church organizations, including Philoptochos and Daughters of Penelope. She also was involved with the Koliva preparations. A seamstress by trade, she loved creating styles for her fashionista persona. She also loved cooking, baking and gardening. Christina was a dynamic and spirited woman. Her passion was her family, and there wasn't anything she would not do to help or please any person. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. The unconditional love she gave and the family values she instilled will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Christina will be deeply missed. Survivors include three loving children, Helen Pertesis of Shelton, Katina Zachariadis (Sotirios) of Fairfield and John G. Pertesis (Maria) of Trumbull, six cherished grandchildren, one adored great grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Christina's caregivers, especially Irene, Edmee, Ana and Alem, for their professional care and love shown to her. The Rite of Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11:00 am in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. The family will receive friends and family Wednesday morning at 10:00 am until time of service in the church. Masks and social distancing are recommended. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
