I am so very sorry. I got to know Mark through Trustegrity as he was a member of two of the groups I chair. He was always there, no matter how he was feeling, even logging in to the zoom while at Yale doing bloodwork. An amazing man with a truly genuine spirit, always offering to help others. My husband got to know him because he helped with a project with some of his students last Spring. My sincerest sympathy. I am sending you love, peace and hope that you will find comfort in having loved this extraordinary human being.

Dear Mary, Meredith and Emily,
Words can’t begin to express how sad we are. Mark was such a special friend to us and everyone who knew him. He always had a funny story, a warm smile and such a caring attitude towards life. We will forever cherish all the great memories.

Mark was a classmate at the Coast Guard Academy. Being a year or two older than the rest of us, and having his experience serving in the U.S. Army, gave Mark a better perspective on what our experiences during the first year or two at USCGA really meant. I remember Mark came up with the idea that we should celebrate getting though our first semester by wearing our dress uniforms and going out for a nice dinner. This became an annual event for those of us in Charlie Company. I remember at the end of our sophomore year Mark and I and a handful of the rest of our classmates were assigned the task of cleaning the entire cadet barracks. We were given 5 days to do the job. Under Mark's leadership we finished in 2 days and were awarded 3 extra days of leave. I remember Mark as one of the most upbeat and positive men I've ever had the privilege to know.
Sincerely,
Glenn Ryerson

Mary and girls. I was so very saddened to hear the news of Redbird's passing. I am still in shock over it. You all are in my thoughts in prayers during this time. May all the wonderful memories of him and the passing of time help to ease the pain. He was a great guy and my family loved him very much.
Love,
Missy Traficonda-Burdick

We will miss you Mark. You were a wonderful brother in law who was really more like a brother to all of us, as well as being a very special Uncle. We have wonderful memories--it just went by way too fast. Rest in peace.

Dear Mary, Meredith, Emily, Lisa and Sabrina: words cannot express how sorry Donna and I are for your loss. Mark was a very special person and all who had the good fortune to know him were better people as a result. We were friends for 55 years and in the past week I’ve thought many times how fortunate I was to be his friend. There will never be another one like my buddy Redbird. May the Good Lord be with you all. Love Charlie and Donna Ray
