Obituary of Norma Jean McPadden

Norma J. (Peluchette) McPadden, age 82, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond F. McPadden, Sr. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on August 6, 1939, to the late Michael Peluchette and Mary Peluchette Pagano. While raising a family of ten, she worked as a real estate agent for various local companies over the years and also was a trusted employee of the Beardsley Zoo Gift Shop. She took joy in cooking and her Sunday dinners. She loved hosting family holidays, winters in Lauderdale By-The-Sea, playing pinochle with her friends, tending to her flowers, doing her jigsaw puzzles, shopping, a good manicure, and a nice getaway trip to the casino. However, her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. She was the family glue and a source of strength for many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her including her "Puppy Dog," Maggie.

She is survived by her loving children: Shelly Bevis and her husband Ray, Tara Anne McPadden, Gretchen Conte and her husband Steve, Christopher McPadden and his wife Trish, Jeffrey McPadden and his wife Andrea, James McPadden, and her daughter-in-law, Marybeth McPadden; her cherished grandchildren: Mallory and Dylan Bevis, Michael McPadden, Raymond, III and Christina McPadden, Anthony, Nicholas and Ryan Conte, Shane McPadden, Isabella McPadden, and Taylor and James McPadden, Jr.; her siblings: Patty Lou Tiano and her husband Gerald, Gary Peluchette and his wife Lisa Tryon, and David Peluchette and his wife Debie, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and best friend Ray, she was predeceased by her sons, Raymond, Jr. and Michael McPadden, and her sisters, Joann Lachioma and Rosemary Killoy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will be private. Norma's family would like to thank the staff of St. Vincent's Medical Center for the compassionate care they provided in her last days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 56 Commerce Dr., Trumbull, CT. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
