Obituary of Rose A. Frye
Rose Pavia Frye, 89, of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. Frye, Jr. Born in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Matilda Corvino Pavia and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.
Rose was a loving, creative, family-oriented woman who always made time for others. Everyone was always welcome at her home where she would end every visit with “Come again.” Always looking for her next adventure, she looked forward to vacations around the country and abroad with her beloved husband, cruises with her sons and granddaughter, and day trips throughout New England with friends. Rose had an exceptionally big heart for children and cherished working over 20 years at Long Hill United Methodist Church as a nursery schoolteacher, where she was also a devoted parishioner. Since becoming a great grandmother she would always visit with a gift in hand. Another love of hers was flowers, which led her to be a member of the Trumbull Garden Club and popular designer of centerpieces for church and family occasions. When she was not decorating for others, she loved watercolor painting and watching UConn Women’s Basketball. One can only imagine the lasting impact Rose has made because of her love and generosity.
Survivors include her three loving sons. Richard Frye (Linda) of Bolton, Donald Frye (Sandy McCoy) of Hanover Park, IL, Daniel Frye (Ann) of Kissimmee, FL, three beloved grandchildren, Carolyn Frye, Laura Frye (Carter Miller), Gary Frye (Sharon) and three cherished great grandchildren, Zoey, Turner, Weston and a brother-in-law, Raymond Saksa of Stratford as well as many cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Saksa. The Frye family would like to thank All Ways There Home-Care for their service and special gratitude goes to Samantha Minta and her family for their love and care for Rose over the past year.
