Obituary of Carlos M. Martins

Carlos M. Martins, age 68, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Teresa Nascimento Martins, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Born in Chaves, Portugal on September 9, 1953, he was a son of the late Jose Martins and Maria Braga.

Carlos was a laborer in the construction industry and a member of the Vasco Da Gama Portuguese Club, Bridgeport. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He treasured time spent with his family and the memories they created will forever be in their hearts. Carlos will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife of 39 years, Teresa, survivors include two loving sons, Carlos Martins Jr., of Trumbull and David Martins of New Hampshire, a cherished and adored granddaughter, Sophia Martins, brothers, Diamantino Martins of Shelton, Jose Martins of Oxford, Antonio Martins of Bridgeport, sisters, Bernardina Braga, Teresa Braga, Palmira Dos Santos, Jacinta Araujo, all of Portugal, and Fatima Silva of Bridgeport, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull. A walk-through visitation will take place on Monday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Visitors are recommended to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building.
