Obituary of Josephine Capozziello

Josephine Capozziello, age 105, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Anthony Capozziello, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 11, 2021 with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on August 7, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Assunta Millo Fusco and resided with her daughter and grandson in Trumbull.

Josephine retired from Remington Rand in Bridgeport after many years of dedicated service and along with her husband was the owner of Cappy & Son Pool Tables in Bridgeport. She enjoyed going down to the store and interacting with the customers. She loved to socialize and would always be ready at the drop of a hat to go out and eat at a restaurant. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and taking trips to the casino.  But above all things she loved to cook her famous meatballs and pasta sauce. She was a woman of faith who was very religious and prayed daily.  She was the best mother anyone could ask for and will be missed by her family and all who knew her.

Survivors include her loving children, Anthony Capozziello and his wife Bernadine and Joanne Amendola and Ernie King all of Trumbull, four grandchildren, Attorney Anthony J. Capozziello, Jr. and his wife Patricia, Attorney Edward Capozziello and his wife Susan and Cheryl Ann Cerejo all of Monroe and Dr. Alan J. Amendola and Christen Bell of Trumbull, six great grandchildren, Claire, Jane, Kate, Alex, Nina and Kyle, a step granddaughter, Mariam Mesturini and her husband Peter and their children, Isabella and Fabio, and two nephews, Daniel Macioce and his wife Valerie and Joseph Fusco and his wife Audrey as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Madeline Macioce and brothers, John, Angelo and Michael Fusco.

Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial.  Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, St. Monica Mausoleum, Trumbull.
