Obituary of Edward G. Kost Jr.

Edward George Kost, Jr., age 96, of Trumbull, CT died on August 24, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. His beloved wife of 55 years, Yola preceded him in death. Born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Edward and Mabel Kost, he graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in Business. He was a veteran of the United States Army proudly serving and a recipient of the Bronze Star during World War II. When he returned home to CT, Ed became the Branch Manager for Remington Rand. He also became an instructor at the National Sales Training Institute on Fisher's Island. After briefly moving to Flemington, New Jersey, he became the Sales Manager for American Typefounders. He helped found the Indian Princess organization in Flemington. Ed relocated back to CT, becoming a partner and Vice President of Liberty Auto and Electric for over fifty years. Ed enjoyed a great round of golf and was an avid Yankees fan. Being a world traveler and a gourmet foodie, Ed and Yola traveled to all 50 states with their beloved dog Muffin in their motor home and they also loved their European and Asian vacations. He loved to winter in Florida and summer in Vermont. His family and many friends will cherish their memories of their time spent with Ed.

He is survived by his beloved children, Kathleen Kost of Sandy Hook, Skip Kost of Shelton and his wife Chicki, and Susan Donovan of Guilford and her husband Russ. He doted on his grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew, Emily and Molly and his great grandchildren Maya, Atticus and Wilder.

Friends and relatives may greet the family on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Entombment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Church.
