Obituary of Beverly J. Getts

Beverly J. Getts, age 94, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the Jewish Home in Bridgeport. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Kuharsky. Born in Danbury, CT on February 2, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Ada Guidotti Getts.

Before her retirement, she was an executive secretary at General Electric with over 40 years of dedicated service.

Beverly, Bev, Aunt Bev or Babe to all who knew her was a selfless human being and generous of heart to a fault, to everyone around her. She cared for her mother and especially her father for many years and was a caregiver to many other family members. She would light up a room and bring a smile to your face with her charismatic smile and a sparkle in her eyes.

Aunt Bev is survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who were all very dear to her. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by brothers, Richard and Elmer Getts Jr, sisters, Alice Giannoni and Betty Cots, a special cousin, Vivian Roberts, whom she lived with for many years and her longtime companion, Thomas Rhymer. She was very fond of her close friends for many years, Katherine Leopardi and Arthur Galant.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Jewish Senior Services for all the wonderful care they provided, especially Nancy, Nirlande and Teresa.

A Funeral Home Service will take place on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends and relatives may call on Friday morning from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
