Obituary of Therese M. Basso

Resident of Bridgeport Therese (Terri) Davey Basso, age 76, of Bridgeport, died on Sunday, July 5, 2009 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Indianapolis, IN on September 29, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Kennedy Davey. Terri retired in 2006 from the City of Bridgeport Board of Education as a Program Assistant. She was also a member of Local 1522 A.F.S.M.E. and a member of the Republican Town Committee and District #138 Leader, she was also a secretary for the local roofers union for many years. She was honored at their Lincoln Day Event. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Charles Church where she was a member of the Marion Guild, a cantor, Eucharistic minister, member of the choir, president of the Home School Association, secretary at the rectory, performed at their cabaret shows, served on the parish council and was co-chair of the St. Gennaro Italian Feast, loved to bowl in two leagues, play bingo and was a volunteer for many events. She was also a member of the St. Charles Friendship Club and also enjoyed her Sunday morning time spent with her Breakfast Club. Terri was also an avid UCONN Basketball and Dallas Cowboys fan. She also enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods Casino with her husband and also enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. Survivors include her beloved husband of 52 years Michael F. Basso, two children Michael V. Basso of Bridgeport and Michele Basso Cennamo and her husband Jack of Trumbull, two grandchildren, Jeff and Nicole Cennamo of Trumbull, brother-in-law Bernie Delaney, sister-in-law, Phyllis Spitzfaden Davey, both of Indianapolis, brother-in-law Lawrence Basso and his wife Joan of Stratford, Stephen Basso and his wife Diane of Rhode Island, sister-in-law Dolores Basso Cortello and her husband Sam of Bridgeport and several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was pre-deceased by her sister Patricia Delaney, two brothers Joseph and Vincent Davey and a godson, John Delaney. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
