Obituary of Martha Cennamo

Martha Paternoster Cennamo, age 80, beloved wife of Jack Cennamo of Trumbull, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Bridgeport hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on October 9, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Raffaeli and Lydia Indaco Paternoster and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

Mimi, as she was called by her granddaughters, was the unassuming sun around which her family circled. She was never more in her element than when she would trim the most elegant Christmas tree and prepare holiday dinners only to see the family smile. She loved deeply and was greatly loved in return. She brought joy and light to all who encountered her and to a world desperately in need of both.

In addition to her beloved husband of 58 years, Jack, she is survived by her two loving children, Michael Cennamo (Jennifer) and Tina Siberon, her sister/"partner in crime", Carol Belchick, her brother, Nicholas Paternoster (Linda) and her two cherished granddaughters, Lydia and Bella as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 13 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Garden Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, www.cancer.org.
