Obituary of Joseph Colello
Joseph Colello of Trumbull and beloved husband of Leona Colello passed away peacefully on Monday, July 12, 2021 surrounded by his loving and dedicated family. He was a son of the late Fannie Bogen-Piantidosi and the late Joseph Colello and stepmother Mary Colello.
After graduating Bullard Havens Technical School Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army, and he proudly served his country. Upon his honorable discharge, Joe went on to graduate in teaching. He went on to earn his Master's Degree from the University of Bridgeport and Sixth Year Degree in School Administration. Joe lovingly taught at Daniels Farm School in Trumbull for 35 years. He was known to many as "Jumping Joe". He had an excellent basketball career at both Bullard Havens and U.B. Joe was in the U.B. Basketball Hall of Fame and the Old Timers Softball Hall of Fame. He was affectionately known as "The Magic Man". During summers, Joe and his kids enjoyed swimming, boating and fishing at Canoe Brook Lake.
In addition to his beloved wife Lee of 63 years, his family includes two loving children, Glen Colello and his wife Lisa Storch and Kristen Colello and her husband Glenn and two cherished grandchildren, Krissalee and Britley, his step-sisters, Rita Lambert and Ceil Parker and a step brother, John Lambert (Alice).
Relatives and friends can greet the family on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull with a prayer service being held at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
