Obituary of Catherine Rossi

Catherine Rossi, age 100, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 8, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Columbus J. Rossi. Born in Bridgeport on April 18, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Franceso DiBlasi and Pauline Balsano and adopted daughter of the late Jack Minei. Catherine had worked for St. Vincent's Medical Center as a payroll administrator for many years before her retirement. She was a woman of great faith and longtime parishioner of St. Lawrence Church, Shelton where she built many friendships. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and returning to both Italy and Aruba were top on her list. A devoted fan of the New York Yankees she also liked to cook the traditional Italian dishes for her family. Her greatest enjoyment however was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Linda Finocchi and her husband Douglas of Stratford, her son-in-law, Noel Walls of Newtown, her cherished grandchildren, Michael Finocchi, Nicholas Finocchi, Jason Walls and Rebecca Walls, her adored great grandchildren, AJ, Kylie, Ayla, Jack, Kayden and Chase Finocchi and Domenic Walls, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Columbus, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Walls and her brothers, Andrew DiBlasi and Angelo Minei.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff and caregivers at Middlebrook Farms, especially her private aide Donna, for their care and compassion while Catherine lived there.
