Obituary of Celestina R. Camagna

Celestina R. Posca Camagna, age 80, beloved wife of Gaetano (Guy) Camagna of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 17, 2021 at her home. Born in Isca Sul Ionio, Province of Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy on October 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Umberto and Liberata Scicchitano Posca.

Celestina retired from the City of Bridgeport Board of Education after working 25 years at the Luis Munoz Marin School. She was a lifetime member of the columbiettes mother Cabrini Council. She was a dedicated parishioner and choir member at St. Raphael/ St. Margaret Shrine Parish where she was also a lector. She served on the Ladies Guild of the Roma Club. She had a passion for gardening, cooking and baking but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her five daughters.

In addition to her beloved husband Guy of 58 years, survivors include her five loving children, Rose Mannino (Francesco) of Bridgeport, Linda Simon (David) of Islamorada, FL, Silvia Rodriguez (Michael) of Shelton, Vera Gilberti (Michael) of Trumbull and Lisa Camagna of North Billerica, MA, a brother, Antonio Posca (Tina) of Ansonia, a sister, Maria Cirilo of Bridgeport and nine grandchildren, Antonino Mannino, Francesco Mannino, David Simon, Jr., Brendon Simon, Yvette Pytlak (Jeffrey), Michael Rodriguez, Jr., Jallisa Rodriguez, Anthony Gilberti and Gianna Gilberti as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother-in-law, Dolores Cirilo and a great grandson, Jeffrey Michael Pytlak, Jr.

A walk-through visitation will take place on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday morning at 10 a.m. directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Entombment will take place at St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
