Obituary of Margaret Iacozza
Margaret (Sweeney) Iacozza, age 90, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Iacozza with whom she was married for 53 years. Born in Olyphant, PA on February 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Connors) Sweeney. Peggy was a sweet and kind-hearted woman with great strength. She took pride in being a wife, mother and homemaker. Peggy's strong Catholic faith was important to her as well. It was Peggy's nurturing and loving heart that encouraged others to affectionately refer to her as, "Mema". Above all else, she was happiest when surrounded by her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her four loving children, Mary Beth Saltzman and her husband Stephen, Bob Iacozza and his wife Lori, Ann Schoenster and her husband Michael, Carolyn Mallon and her husband Dan, seven grandchildren, Shannon Murray and her husband Robert Townes, Alyson Jachym, Ashley Carleton and her husband Dave, Bobby Iacozza and his wife Jess, Michael Schoenster and his wife Bethany, and James and Matthew Bonvicini, seven great grandchildren, Marcus and Angela Townes, Sadie Schoenster, Evan and Ryan Jachym, Penelope Carleton and Harper Iacozza, her sisters, Anne Ulicki and Eileen White, her brother, Michael Sweeney, two sisters-in-law, Margaret Shelby and Elaine Antonini, extended family Amy Saltzman, Linda Verga and their families, and Kevin and Erica Mallon. In addition to her husband, Robert, she was also predeceased by her sisters, Mary Schaaf, Helen Keating, Katherine Tilson, and her brothers, James, John and Edward Sweeney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 12:00 noon in St. Raphael Parish/St. Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Ave., Milford. Face masks and social distancing will be required. Friends may greet the family directly in church from 11:30 a.m. up until the time of Mass. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
