Obituary of Norvil Campos

Norvil Campos, age 90, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 with his loving daughter by his side. He was the beloved husband of Solange Fernandez Campos and the late Cecilia Sarzosa Campos. Born in Capote, Peru on May 10, 1930, he was the son of the late Neptali and Genara Gonzales Campos. He was predeceased by his younger brother, Armando Campos of Lima, Peru.

At the age of 34, he immigrated to the United States to find the American dream. He was a hard worker; he began as a shoe maker in Norwalk and then went on to work at General Electric, finally retiring from Mobil Chemical. He was kind, gentle, and honest. A man of strong faith, he was devoted to The Cross of Motupe, visiting the site whenever he traveled to Peru. He loved all sports but particularly soccer, which he played when he was young and continued to be an avid fan of throughout his life.

But above all things in life, family was most important. He treasured the time spent with his family, especially his five grandsons. The values he instilled and the unconditional love he gave will forever live in their hearts. Norvil will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his cherished daughter Monica Crone and her husband Gary of Newtown, five adored grandsons, Nicholas, Tristan, Julian, Nathaniel and Benjamin Crone, brothers, Absalon Campos and his wife Luz of Miami, Jose Campos of Lima, Peru, Hector Campos and his wife Martha of Bridgeport, as well as an extensive, loving family both in the United States as well as in Peru.

His family would like to thank the many caregivers for their compassion, friendship and skilled assistance.

Due to the concerns at this time associated with social gatherings, all funeral services and interment will be held privately for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association PO Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011 or Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
