Obituary of Maria Lombardi

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Maria (Iannicelli) Lombardi, age 88 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Gioacchino "Jack" Lombardi. Maria passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Crispano, a Province of Naples, Italy on November 8, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Domenico and Giulietta Nattino Iannicelli. Maria was very talented in working with her hands and was a true artist. Her attention to detail can be seen in her many embroidery pieces which are true artwork meticulously designed by eye. She loved using her hands in embroidery, crocheting and cooking, all of which she had mastered. Maria's talent as a seamstress was shared with many local garment manufacturers. Above all, Maria cherished nothing more than being surrounded by her family, often spending every Sunday "insieme" where she loved to be. Maria's passion to cook and bake was passed onto her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Maria is survived by her four beloved daughters, Linda Vincent and her husband Fred of Trumbull, Anna Psaras and her husband Ben of Monroe, Angela Lombardi of Trumbull, and Jackie Duenges and her husband Bill of Trumbull, her cherished grandchildren, Sarah Jorge and her husband Andy, Jennifer Ehman, Rachel Vincent, Alex, Christina, and Jack Psaras, and Jake and Katie Duenges, her adored great grandchildren, Amelia and Julian Jorge, and many loving family members in Italy.
