Obituary of Richard Mark Ruggiero

Richard (Rick) Mark Ruggiero, age 60, of East Haven, beloved husband of Karen Bartlett-Ruggiero, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 20, 2021. Rick was born in Manchester, CT on June 9, 1960, to Dolores Young Ruggiero and the late Merico Ruggiero.

A graduate of Manchester High School and the University of New Haven, Rick was a celebrated Senior Sales Representative for the Behr Corporation. Throughout his career, Rick enjoyed meeting new people and made many long-lasting friendships. Rick had a caring heart and would always put others before himself. He never passed up an opportunity to lend a helping hand or be a shoulder to lean on. A dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, he treasured the time he spent with his family. Rick enjoyed exercising and teaching spin classes, going on hikes, and playing with the family dogs on the beach. His great sense of humor and genuine love for God and others touched the lives of many, and he will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife Karen and his mother Dolores, survivors include three loving children, Nick Molina (Jess), Rebecca and Lauren Rancourt, a cherished granddaughter, Amelie Molina, two brothers, Robert Ruggiero (Sharon), Steven Ruggiero (Jackie), nephews and nieces, Michael (Stephanie) and son Rowan, Samantha, Ashley, Rachael, and Joseph, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He will also be missed by his loved canine companions, Cooper and Callie.

A walk-through visitation will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Guests are asked to wear face masks and socially distance as they enter the building, pay their respects, and exit without lingering in order to allow others the same opportunity. All other services will be held privately for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope World Wide, 4231 Balboa Ave, #330, San Diego, CA 92117 or visit www.hopeww.org.

In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness. Turn your ear to me,

come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge,
a strong fortress to save me. Since you are my rock

and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and

guide me. Into your hands I commit my spirit;
deliver me, Lord, my faithful God. I will be glad and

rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction
and knew the anguish of my soul. Be merciful to me, Lord,

for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow,

my soul and body with grief.

Psalms 31:1-3,5,7,9
