Obituary of Michael Guerrera
Michael Guerrera, age 92, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Pasqualina Mancini Guerrera, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy on May 4, 1928, he was a son of the late Angelo and Nicolina Guerrera. A member of the Connecticut Laborers Union, he was employed by a number of local construction companies, including the Frouge Corporation. He ultimately retired as a valued employee of the Westfield Trumbull Mall after 30 years of dedicated service.
Michael enjoyed gardening and tending to his variety of fruit and fig trees, gladly sharing their bounty with family and friends. He occupied his retirement years as a dedicated bird fancier and award winning breeder of canaries, lovebirds, cockatiels and parrots. Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who valued time with his family. His generous and loving spirit will live in the hearts of all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his loving children, Dr. Angelo Guerrera and his wife Janice Portentoso of Fairfield, and Dr. Robert Guerrera and his wife Lisa of Norwalk; four cherished grandchildren, Sophia, Lily, Zachary and Evan Guerrera; his sisters, Giovannina Guerrera of Bridgeport, and Patricia Longo of Monroe; a brother-in-law, Donato Mancini and his wife Maria of Waterbury, as well as several nieces and nephews.
