Obituary of Rose S. Megenis

Rose (Scioletti) Megenis, age 96, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at St. Joseph Center, Trumbull. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter W. Megenis. Born in Bridgeport on April 9, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Adelchi and Dorothy (Falasca) Scioletti. Rose had been employed by General Electric for many years before her retirement. A woman of great faith, she was an active member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church, where she also served on the Ladies Guild and has enjoyed many friendships. Rose loved to bake and especially enjoyed making holiday cookies. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving children, Walter Megenis and his wife Ann Marie Marsilio Megenis of Naples, FL, Richard Megenis and his wife Yvonne of Trumbull, David Megenis and his wife Gail of Stratford, her cherished grandchildren, Alex Megenis, Jacqueline Megenis, Matthew Megenis and David Megenis and his wife Kelli, her adored great grandchildren, Carter Megenis and Saylor Fitzpatrick. In addition to her husband Walter, she was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters.

A walk-through visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Face masks and social distancing will be required as guests walk through the building, pay their respects and then exit the building in order to allow others the same opportunity. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rose's name can be made to the Holy Name of Jesus Lady's Guild, 1950 Barnum Ave, Stratford, CT 06615.
