Obituary of Elizabeth Onofreo
Elizabeth Pillar Onofreo, age 84, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late John F. Onofreo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at The Village at South Farms in Middletown. Born on April 5, 1936 in Nanticoke, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Soltis Pillar and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.
Elizabeth was a manager for many years at Off Track Betting in Bridgeport where she got to know and befriend many of the customers. She dedicated countless hours in volunteer service to the Ladies Confraternity of St. Theresa Church in Trumbull. She also enjoyed baking and spending time with her family but her greatest joy was participating in the lives of her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include three loving children, Anthony Onofreo and his wife Pam of Middlefield, Lisa Floridia of Trumbull, and John Onofreo and his wife Terry of Trumbull, son-in-law George Floridia of Trumbull, a brother, Joseph Pillar, nine cherished grandchildren, Jennifer, Maria, Tina, Alyssa, Kyle, Kevin, Katy, Natalie and Nina, six great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull with limited seating. Social distancing must be observed and masks must be worn to attend. The Mass will be livestreamed by visiting http://www.sttheresatrumbull.org/ by clicking the livestream view now button. Entombment will be held privately for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "Cure Alzheimer's Fund" https://curealz.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
