Obituary of Fredrick G. Leonard

Fredrick G. Leonard, age 83, of Trumbull, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Schenectady, NY on October 9, 1937, he was the second oldest of nine children of the late Fredrick Sr. and Jane Riordan Leonard. As he shared the same name with his father, he was affectionately referred to as George by members of his family. Fred grew up in Port Crane, NY and served in the United States Navy after graduating from high school. Upon returning home, he married Dolores Doolittle and shortly thereafter moved to Trumbull. He spent his entire career at IBM primarily employed as a systems engineer accumulating over 38 years of service. Fred enjoyed gardening, photography and swimming.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores "Dee" Leonard, two sons, Robert Leonard and his wife Andrea of Jamison, PA and Paul Leonard and his wife Milda of Trumbull, a brother, Michael Leonard of Richmond, VA and a sister, Rita Macko of Athens, GA, and five grandchildren: Mitchell, Ava, Teddy, Ryan, and Alec along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral and interment services will be held privately for the immediate family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
