Obituary of Lawrence C. Kohler

Bridgeport Resident Lawrence (Larry) Kohler, age 61, of Bridgeport, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Born in Bridgeport on December 2, 1951, he was the son of the late Charles and Edna (Krause) Kohler. Survivors include his two loving daughters, Allison Kohler Roesner and her husband Joern of Germany and Ginia Kohler of Trumbull, a grandson, Ryan Roesner and his former wife Cheryl Kohler of Trumbull. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Peter Warren Kohler. Larry was a father, grandfather, life partner, and friend to many. He knew from an early age that he wanted to be a plumber like his father. He graduated from Bullard Havens Tech and continued his love of the trade as a plumber for the Town of Trumbull for over 30 years. In addition Larry had his own business, L. Kohler Plumbing and Heating. He loved his daughters, Allison and Ginia more than anything. He was very proud of his daughter Allisons accomplishments and the beautiful grandson, Ryan, that she and Joern gave him. He spent many hours at antique car shows with Ginia and loved hanging with her. If there was a NASCAR race on, you knew Larry would be watching. He loved attending Seekonk Speedway with his best friend in life, Cheryl. Together they had many awesome times. Snowmobiling and boating were a major part of his life. Everyone knew Larry for his great personality. Even when things were tough Larry would always find a way to joke and smile. He would do anything for anyone. Bindi, his furry sidekick, provided lots of comfort. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Information Friends may greet the family on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 1:00 3:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull followed by a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A committal service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. directly in Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave., Bridgeport.
