Dear Bernadette only came into our lives a few years ago at St. Mark in Stratford. We first met at a social committee meeting and I was immediately struck by her beautiful warmth but also her ability to listen. In our first 'getting to know you' conversations she tuned into a story I was telling and how it could become much more. We had many more conversations and interactions around our parish family from then on. I was always so fascinated about the story of she and Bill and the beautiful family they built. We were privileged to meet some of you at St. Mark events immediately seeing the 'Borchert Spirit' shining through. It was a privilege to have known her and will always hold her and your family in our hearts. Love, Joyce and Al Baran

Mrs. Borchert was like a second mother to me. She always found a place for you at the dinner table and would listen to your problems. She could also convince you to do crazy stuff, like delivering an upright piano to Rhode Island. I was so fortunate to have been one of the “extra siblings” at Grandview Avenue. My prayers are with all the Borcherts as we say goodbye to this amazing lady. I am sorry that I cannot pay my respects in person. With love, Manny Boccini
