Obituary of Francisca Colon

Francisca “Paca” (Vivó) Colón, age 95, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell E. Colón, Sr. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on May 28, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Juan and Pilar Sanchez Correa Vivó. Paca had worked alongside her husband for many years as owner of Guadeloupe Tropical Products Distribution in Bridgeport CT and most recently Colonial Coatings, a speciality coating service to the aerospace industry in Milford CT. She loved to sew and her talents for it were clearly evident in all her work and creations. She had a special place in her heart and gave tirelessly to organizations that gave back to her local community in CT and her first home, Puerto Rico. She loved her family above all else, both here and in Puerto Rico and looked forward to her frequent visits returning home. She enjoyed her trips to the casino, listening to her Spanish music, and was a fantastic cook. She lived for her grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving children, Pilar Lopez and her husband Juan of Trumbull, Russell E. Colón, Jr. and his fiancé Jordan Lintz of Milford, David Colón and his wife Andrea of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Sonia Collins and her husband Tom of Trumbull, her cherished grandchildren, Craig Lopez and his wife Emily, Keith Lopez, Paige Colón, Christian Colón, Brittni Colón, Carly Colón, Megan Collins and Emily Collins, her adored great grandchildren, Evita, Lydia and Jai Lopez, her sisters, Noemi Bufalini of Bridgeport and Muriel Cervone of NY, as well as nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. In addition to her husband, Russell, she was also predeceased by 7 sisters and 4 brothers.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Paca’s care giver, Mailin Montanez, for her exceptional care and compassion she has provided over the last four years.

Due to the concerns affecting us all at this time surrounding social gatherings, all services and interment will be held privately for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Red Cross Hurricane Maria Relief and Recovery on their website American Red Cross- Hurricane Maria Relief Information. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home.
