Obituary of Marguerite Ulysse

Marguerite (Tertulien) Ulysse, age 87, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Andre Ulysse. Born in Haiti on February 23, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Cerneus and Alourde (Sanon) Tertulien.

A woman of great faith, she was proud to have been a part of the Notre Dame Nativity Choir while living in Haiti. She enjoyed singing and has been an active member of St. Charles Church, Bridgeport since 1996. She has organized and led many prayer groups over the years and built many lasting friendships.

In addition to her beloved husband Andre of 61 years, other survivors include her loving children, Paulette Lacroix and her husband Alin, Marlene Ulysse-Telfort, Soniard Catilus and her husband Fredo, Pierre Richard Ulysse, Mireille Ulysse Haynes and her husband Nathan, Mimose Ulysse-Laurenard and her husband Orele and her nephew Bertauny Tertulien, who was cared for like a son; her cherished grandchildren, Sarina Ulysse, Joshua Ulysse, Alisha Lacroix, Christelle Lacroix, Rebecca Catilus, Fred-Andre Catilus, Larissa Laurenard, Christabelle Laurenard, Chlaurissa Laurenard, Bianca Haynes, Leny Telfort and her husband Jamie Dwayne Aird Sr., Vladio Telfort, Gregory Telfort and Christina Telfort; her adored great grandchildren, Jamie Dwayne Aird Jr., and Liam Matthias Aird; her brother, Leclerc Tertulien as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Francis and Jean Tertulien and her sister, Agnus Tertulien Medor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1255 East Main St., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in Pilgrimage Mausoleum at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family at the church Saturday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Masks are mandatory and social distancing per church guidelines is required.
