Obituary of Joseph Nicholas Muzsi

Joseph Nicholas Muzsi, age 86 of Easton, CT passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Born in Budapest, Hungary on February 14, 1934, he was a son of the late John and Anne Bakos Muzsi. Survivors include two loving sons, Peter Muzsi and his wife Tamara Toth of Stamford and Andrew Muzsi and his wife Tara of New Hope, Pennsylvania, four cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Kayla, Zoe, and Abigail, as well as several nieces and nephews. His wife, Irma, of 48 years predeceased him. Joseph lived a full life. He was raised in Hungary and lived through the Hungarian Revolution, fled to Germany where he attended trade school to become a tool maker & machinist, and then immigrated to the United States in the mid-sixties. He spent most of his career as a tool maker crafting precision parts for aircrafts and tanks as well as a home builder constructing residences across Fairfield County. In his spare time, he loved working on his landscaping and his projects around his house. There were often more projects than hours in his day but there was nothing he could not build or fix. Conversations of anything related to Hungary or Germany (food, wine, culture, travel, sports, etc.) always brought a smile to his face and he was an active supporter within the Hungarian-American community. Joseph was a huge sports fan and while he quickly assimilated to the NFL and baseball, he was a devout and passionate football (soccer) player and fan. Joseph was known as strong, hardworking, and generous. He used those qualities to his advantage and always made time for others. Joseph's generosity will be missed by all that knew him. Due to the risk of COVID 19 transmission, all funeral services and interment at Gate of Heaven were held privately. To leave an online condolence please visit www.abriola.com.
