Obituary of Kenneth J. Gaffney

Kenneth J. Gaffney, age 97 beloved husband of Isabella Cortes Gaffney, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020 at his home. Born in Bridgeport on September 15, 1922, he was the son of the late Lennon and Margaret Griffin Antonucci and was a longtime resident of Trumbull. Ken was a U.S. Army Veteran and proudly serving his country during World War II. He loved hiking, white water rafting and mountain climbing. He climbed Annapurna in India at age 60. Ken as he was known by all, enjoyed traveling around the world, on one of many visits to his's wife native Colombia, where he was always treated like a celebrity, so much so, that on a visit to a restaurant where the Mayor of the city happen to be dining, Ken got more attention than the Mayor…!!! As a young man Ken was also involved in taxidermy. Ken was also strong in Catholic faith. Kenneth worked at Orcomatic Molding and Division in Stratford for 25 years as a metrologist. He was a loving husband, stepfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife, Isabella of 35 years, survivors include two stepsons, Roger Hine of California and Peter Hine of New Jersey a step daughter, Pam Latka of Stratford, a step daughter-in-law, Marta Gallo of Trumbull, a grandson, Christian James Gallo and a cousin Dean Kenny of New Hampshire. He was predeceased by a step son, William E. Gallo.

Due to the concerns about social gatherings affecting us all at this time, funeral and interment services will be held privately for the immediate family. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
