Obituary of Marie T. Lorthe

Marie T. Lorthe, age 82 of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2020 with her family by her side. Born on April 11, 1937 in Fond-Des-Blancs, Haiti, she was a daughter of the late Jean and Idalia Guirand Lorthe. She worked for many years as a seamstress. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Marie is survived by her loving children and stepchildren, Yves Lorthe and his wife Sophia Buissereth of MA, JF Lorthe and his wife Myrtho of Bridgeport, Hedwidge Scott of Haiti, Herisse Guirand and his wife Bernadette of FL, Marie Francois Bernadel and her husband Arcene of West Haven, and Jules Guirand and his wife Nancy of MA, her adored grandchildren, Mickael, Christopher, Nicolas, Stanley, Valdis, Lorenz, Tamyra Lorthe, Israel Scott, Herdy, Genia, Alexa, Dohorty Guirand, Stephanie Drevas and her husband Bernadel, Melissa, Laura, Juleen Guirand, her beloved siblings, Rozette Guirand and her husband Dominique, Olina Lorthe, and Francois Lorthe, as well as many nieces and nephews Fritz Guirand, Wilvire Cadet, Yanique Guirand, Francky Guirand, Dominique Guirand, Francois Lorthe, Evens Lorthe, Naika Lorthe, Sherly Simeon and all their children.

Friends are invited to meet directly in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave, Stratford on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Pilgrimage Mausoleum at Mountain Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport. Family and friends may call on Friday, February 7, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
