Obituary of Rosemary Elizabeth Wright

Rosemary Elizabeth (DiToro) Wright, 78, of Redding passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Yale Hospital. She was born November 19, 1940, in Bridgeport, CT. The family moved to Stratford and she graduated from Stratford High School, and later moved to Redding. She subsequently earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in history from Western Connecticut State University.

Rosemary was always busy supporting her family and serving her community. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and Co-President of the Redding Garden Club, and Recording Secretary of the Redding Historical Society, a volunteer at Westport Country Playhouse and Stamford Symphony. She worked in imports and exports licensing at Union Carbide, Odyssey Logistics and Sikorsky. Since retirement, she was a substitute teacher in the Redding Public Schools.  She also enjoyed traveling, drawing, watercolors and hiking.

She is pre-deceased by her parents Esther (D’Elia) and Peter DiToro, and her infant son Edward Wlodarski.  She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Roger Wright; daughters Kristina Fontaine, Lisa Romano, Sabrina (and Raymond) Mancini, and Regina Kruger; stepchildren Joan Mathews and James (and Rhonda) Wright; eight grandchildren: Hannah Wright, Helen Mathews, Jonathan Wright, Charles Romano, Ethan Romano, Megan Kruger, Anna Romano, and Anika Kruger; a brother, Michael DiToro; and cousins Joy, Ernest, Thomas and Dolores.

Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Patrick Church, 169 Black Rock Turnpike, Redding for a Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will follow in Redding Ridge Cemetery.  Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4 -7 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New England Center for Children, (www.necc.org), 33 Turnpike Rd., Southborough, MA  01772.
