Obituary of Grace E. Johansson

April 20, 2006 Longtime Trumbull Resident Grace E. Johansson, of Trumbull, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Bridgeport Hospital. A lifetime resident of Connecticut, Grace was predeceased by her parents, Nanny and Harry Johansson, also of Trumbull. She is survived by several aunts and cousins here in the U.S. and in Sweden. Grace received her bachelors degree from the University of Bridgeport and her masters degree in physical education from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She began her career as a teacher in Barrington, R.I and then returned to Ct. to teach at Laurelton Hall in Milford. She was also a womens field hockey coach at several schools, including Fairfield University. Grace made a career change in 1980, becoming a very successful technical recruiter, opening her own search and placement business in 1984. In recent years, she held the position of director of business development for two international software service companies. As a long-time resident of Pinewood Lake, she was very active in the Association and was a past vice-president and Board of Directors member. She was a vital force and loving participant at Pinewood Lake, and will be terribly missed. Funeral Information Friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road , Trumbull on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. A spiritual invocation will be shared at 6 p.m. Interment will be private.
