Obituary of John D. Pellegrino

John D. Pellegrino, age 79, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 18, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at Ludlowe Center of Fairfield. He was the beloved husband of Theresa Pilarski Pellegrino. Born in Bridgeport on April 13, 1939, he was a son of the late John B. and Margaret DiNapoli Pellegrino. John was a graduate of Central High School where he was president of his class for four years. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. John was the owner and president of Auto Recovery Bureau, Conn, Inc., which he ran for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a real estate broker and a local developer and served on both the Trumbull Park Commission and as Trumbull Police Commissioner from 1980 until 1990, where he was Chairman his last year. He was a past president of the Trumbull Little League and National Finance Adjusters. John was an avid N.Y. Yankee fan and a softhearted animal lover. Above all, however, John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who would lend a hand to anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Theresa of 53 years, other survivors include his devoted sons, John I. Pellegrino and his wife Layla and Lorin Pellegrino and his wife Elizabeth, both of Trumbull and Alan Pellegrino and his companion, Luz Pagan of Fairfield, his three cherished grandchildren, Isabella, Lorin Andrew and Ava Rose Pellegrino, his sister-in-law, Margaret Pepin and her husband Ronald of Trumbull as well as several nieces, nephews, dear friends, and Molly, his much-loved dog. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Pellegrino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull.
