Obituary of Barbara M. Kressu

Barbara M. Shannon Kressu, age 82, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Charles Kressu, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 5, 1935 in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Bodor Shannon. A graduate of Central High School, Barbara was a retired employee of Avco Lycoming, where she was a member of the Ladies Club and ran the club store. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, was an avid bingo player and loved to garden and tend to her flowers. But above all she was a dedicated wife, sister and aunt. Barbara will be truly missed by all who loved her. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Barbara's caregivers, Nadia, Nino, Meri, Layla and Katia, for the wonderful care showed during her time of need.

Survivors include her twin sister, Patricia DiMenno and her husband Philip of Shelton, a brother, Arthur Shannon of Milford, sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Kressu, Andronika Kressu and Cornelia Talabac, as well as several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday morning from 9–10 a.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
