Obituary of Antonio "Tony" J. Teixeira

Antonio J. (Tony) Teixeira, age 51, of Bridgeport, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 10, 2018 at his home. Born in Antigo de Serraquinhos, Montalegre, Portugal on September 23, 1966, he was a son of Emilia DaSilva Teixeira of Trumbull and the late Arlindo Teixeira. Tony came to the United States at the age of 12 and was always the dedicated big brother. He graduated from Central High School in 1984 and went on to attend Sacred Heart University. In 2003, along with his brothers, they established Three T's Irrigation; he truly loved going to work with his brothers.

Tony lived life to the fullest; he did things his way and had no regrets. He was an outgoing person, who was there to help anyone in need. He loved the 4th of July and his epic firework displays will be missed. But above all things in life he was a loving son, brother, companion, uncle and friend. Time spent with his family was very important, especially with his nephews and niece. The memories he created will always live in their hearts. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his beloved mother, Emilia, survivors include two brothers, Fred (Al) Teixeira and his wife Lucy of Trumbull, and Joe Teixeira and his wife Glorimar of Bridgeport and a sister, Ana Paula Mendes and her husband Domingos of Trumbull, nephews and niece, Zachary, Jake and Ryan Teixeira, Max, Jackson and Sofia Mendes, his girlfriend Sofia Galeano as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 465 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
