Obituary of Joseph C. Misinonile

Joseph C. Misinonile, age 92, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018, with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport, on November 6, 1925 he was the son of the late Salvatore and Jennie Pasquariello Misinonile. Joseph was a retired lead man from Sikorsky Aircraft, with 35 years of dedicated service. After his retirement he went on to work at Stop and Shop in the bakery department for 15 years. A decorated U.S. Army veteran, Joe received five World War II Battle Stars for his participation in five major battles: Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He enjoyed traveling, loved the outdoors, cooking and his time spent at the Shelton Senior Center. But above all his accomplishments and roles in life, none was greater than that of father and grandfather. He treasured the time spent with his family and the unconditional love he gave, and the memories created will always live on in their hearts.

Survivors include two daughters, Jo-Ann Campos and her companion Evan Betts of Stratford, and Jenny Lynn Misinonile of Shelton, three stepchildren, Earl Sickinger and his wife Karen, Helen Cleary and Robert Sickinger and his wife Henrietta, a granddaughter, Lauren Tvardzik and her companion Kevin Wells, as well as eight step grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, Fred Misinonile of Monroe and Umberto Misinonile of Trumbull, two sisters, Susan Piccirillo, and Helen Martinez both of Shelton and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant sister, Clementine, a brother Louis Misinonile and sisters, Elvira Schallbruch and Rose D'Archangelo

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
