Obituary of Charles J. Jagetz

Resident of Trumbull Jagetz-Charles J. Jagetz of, Trumbull died peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 14, 2010 after a long battle with Parkinsons disease. He was born September 5, 1917 in Bridgeport. He was predeceased by his wife of fifty-three years, Edna Larkin Jagetz in 1995. Charles was a veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific and served again during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Bridgeport Engineering Institute and worked as an engineer at Singer Company and Sikorsky Aircraft. He also served as Ombudsman for the Town of Trumbull. After retirement in his mid-seventies, Charles volunteered his time at Bridgeport Hospital in their maintenance department on computerized scheduling, for which he was recognized with an award for 10,000 volunteer hours. He was also very active as his neighborhoods handyman, helping neighbors with a sundry of repair and household projects. He had a lifelong love of gardening and proudly displayed his azaleas and gave cuttings to anyone who displayed a similar interest. He was a devout member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church of Trumbull. Charles is survived by his daughter Lisa K. Jagetz-Mandell, and his two grandchildren, Julia and James Mandell. Also surviving are two nieces and a nephew and their six children. The family wishes to extend special thanks to his caregiver, Jennifer Amedy. Funeral Information Friends are invited to call on Thursday August 19, 2010 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Farm Burial Ground, Trumbull.
