Obituary of Mary Eloise Wyatt

Mary "Eloise" Wyatt, age 87, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at her home with her beloved daughter by her side. Born in Lynchburg, VA on January 7, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Frank D. and Lula Mays Stinnette, Sr. Eloise was a graduate of the Lynchburg General Hospital Nursing School and was later employed there as a Registered Nurse before moving to Connecticut. Her desire to care for others led to her becoming one of the first women to volunteer for the Ambulance Corp of Huntington, which she was honored and proud to be a member of. Also serving as a faithful volunteer at Griffin Hospital where she accumulated many hours of dedicated service, Eloise donated her time at St. Paul's Episcopal Church helping in the office and for the family table. An avid bridge player, she will be greatly missed by her fellow "Queens" at their Wednesday evening gatherings. Above all else, however, was her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Eloise is survived by her loving daughter, Robbin Wyatt Ford of Shelton, who was her caregiver for the last ten years. She was predeceased by her beloved son-in-law, Stephen D. Ford. She also leaves behind her two sons, Wayne Wyatt and his wife, Carol, of Shelton and Bruce Wyatt and his wife, Spring, of Oxford, as well as her grandchildren, Jessica Bursell and her husband, Matt, of Woodbury and Ryan Wyatt and his wife, Jodi, of Oxford, her great grandchildren, Hailey and Benjamin Bursell, as well as special friends Billy and Mary Gaddy of Lynchburg, VA. Eloise was also predeceased by her brothers Frank Jr, Charles, and Rudolph Stinnette and her sister, Doris Scanlon.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 25 Church St., Shelton. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Seymour Pink Inc., P.O. Box 333, Seymour, CT 06483.
