Obituary of Antonio D. Fernandes

Antonio D. Fernandes, age 90, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 26, 1928 in Vilarinha de Negroes, Montalegre, Portugal, he was a son of the late Manuel Dias and Antonia Fernandes. Antonio emigrated to the United States in 1961 to provide a good life for his family. He was a member of the CT Laborers Union Local 665 for many years before his retirement. Affectionately known as "Pai" to everyone, Antonio enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a hardworking man who provided unconditional love and care for his family. He will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include his two loving daughters, Ana Marie Deeb of Stratford and Theresa Dimas and her husband William Jr. of Shelton, and their mother Theresa Dias Fernandes, five cherished grandchildren, Alexandra Lombardi and her husband Sebastian, Michael Deeb and his wife Carla and Kassandra, Amanda and Samantha Dimas, four adored great grandchildren, Michael, Gabriel, Genevieve and Julian. He was predeceased by his grandson Nicolas Deeb.

All funeral services were held privately.
